Group Programs
Some things feel heavier when you carry them alone. The worry that loops at 2am. The situations you quietly avoid. The sense that everyone else seems to be coping better than you. You don't have to keep managing it on your own.
Group programs offer something different.
You sit alongside people who understand, learn practical skills that actually help, and discover you were never the only one. As a psychologist based on the Northern Beaches, I run these programs in a warm, supportive space where you can feel at ease from the very first session.

The programs change throughout the year, each one built around a common challenge and a clear, achievable outcome. So there's always something relevant, whether you're facing anxiety, stress, or a specific worry that's been holding you back.
Phone Anxiety
Group program starting 25/9/26
Is it difficult to make and receive phone calls?

“I can’t see their facial expressions, what are they thinking? Silence is awkward. I fill the gap with too much information. How do I end the phone call without offending them? I may interrupt someone and they will get annoyed with me?”

Does someone else make phone calls for you? Have you avoided jobs to avoid the phone? Do you worry that you will sound silly or say the wrong thing? Do you have thoughts such as: “They will tell that I sound nervous…I won’t sound professional…They will reject me”.
Aim of the group program:
Increased phone use and less avoidance of using the phone.
Feeling less anxious using the phone.
What is the program?
Evidenced-based treatment such as Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT) and Exposure Therapy for social anxiety and phobias. CBT is used to understand how our thoughts influence the way we feel and behave. Exposure therapy tests the negative thoughts/beliefs that we have and helps us to desensitise to anxiety.
The downside of anxiety when using the phone:
Not using the phone may make everyday activities and situations difficult.
Anxiety may linger long after the phone call and way before making the phone call.
Shame, embarrassment and a lack of confidence. You may feel incapable and incompetent. “Everyone else can do this, why can’t I?”
Anxiety about using the phone can generalise to other areas in your life, which may mean missing out on opportunities and enjoyment.
